It’s all about sharing nowadays. Since this beautiful idea-dream came to my mind, I have been sharing it, little by little, with my closest friends and they all seem to be very curious about the tea universe, whether they drink it or not.
By the end of November last year, the lovely Ivonne García, who is a tea lover herself, had the brilliant idea of a community about tea lovers in Google + so we created it; she thought the connection between tea culture and moods would be something worthy to share, not only with the close friends like I was doing, but with everyone in the world, in order to see how big it was really. Today the community has more than 17.000 members, and everyday there are lots of people talking about tea.
What does that give to our project? People to talk to, because we cannot reach them in person -yet-, and they are still a customer segment that can help us validating our business.
In the past days I put a post on the community, asking the people if they drink tea to their different moods, and I had an interesting debate of opinions. Here are some of them:
According to this, six persons, who are frequent tea drinkers, agree that tea can be used to better the moods, and they drink tea sometimes with that intention.
Now, as our market is very (VERY!) segmented, we need to make it bigger no matter what. In these days of making interviews and going to tea houses, malls, places, etc., I’ve noticed that there’s more people drinking tea than what I thought. Still, not everyone is open to talk with a stranger; that’s when I take my social abilities and start a conversation that is usually a good one, because with a topic like tea there is always something to talk about.
